IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL PATIENTS

WE ARE CHANGING OUR CLINICAL COMPUTER SYSTEM

BETWEEN JUNE 15TH AND JUNE 28TH 2017.

WE WILL AIM TO KEEP DISRUPTION TO A MINIMUM BUT PATIENTS CAN HELP US IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

If possible, avoid visiting the surgery during this time.  We will be running “SIT AND WAIT” surgeries for patients who need to be seen during this time.

If your PRESCRIPTION will run out during this time, put your request in early. The electronic link with your pharmacy will not work during this time.

Be PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING with clinicians and administrative staff who will still be getting used to a new system.

THANK YOU

Changes to Appointment System

In an attempt to prevent the very large number of GP appointments that are being wasted when patients do not attend, we will shortly be making changes to our appointment system. In the last 6 months, 885 GP appointments have been wasted. This is equivalent to 31 working days. We have attempted to improve the situation by writing to patients who miss their appointments, but this has not helped.

From August 1st 2016, the majority of appointments with a GP will only be available to book a couple of days ahead. We will continue to offer same day access to a clinician for patients with medical symptoms which require this and there will be a few appointments that can be pre-booked with a GP two weeks ahead.

This change will not affect appointments with the Practice Nurses or Phlebotomist.

Please ensure we have your correct mobile telephone number so we can send you a text to remind you about your appointment. If you no longer need your appointment, please remember to cancel it in good time, so it can be used by someone-else. If we have sent you a text reminding you about your appointment, you can cancel it by replying Cancel.

GP Registrars are qualified doctors who undertaking a 3-year training program to become GPs. They will usually work independently when seeing patients but their work is supervised and monitored by their GP trainer, which it our practice is Dr Ward.
