Home Visits

elderly_consultWould all patients please note the following - visiting a patient at home takes up a great deal of the doctor's valuable time as three or four patients can usually be seen
at the surgery in the time it takes for the doctor to visit one patient at home.

You will also be seen much sooner if you come to the surgery.

Please note that a lack of transport is not a reason for requesting a visit by the doctor. Please ensure that all requests for home visits reach the surgery by 11am unless a genuine emergency arises later in the day.

A doctor may phone you to assess whether a visit is appropriate and the decision to visit is always that of the doctor and not the patient.

Please ensure that we have your correct telephone number and that all answer phones are switched off so that we can reach you on the number we have.

If a home visit is made, it will be done by the duty doctor of the day at the surgery who may be a different doctor to the one you usually see.

Thank you for your co-operation
