In light of the risk of flu and COVID-19 circulating at the same time this winter, it is even more important that eligible patients get their annual flu vaccination as soon as possible this year. In order to maintain social distancing, our dedicated flu clinics will run from St Barnabas Church, King John Avenue in Bearwood and St Luke’s Church, St Luke’s Road in Winton. Staff will be wearing PPE and patients are expected to wear face coverings. Flu clinics will be running at various dates and times during September with dedicated time slots for patients who have previously been shielding.
Eligible patients include;
- patients with specific long-term medical conditions, including children over the age of 6 months*
- everyone aged 65 and over on 31st March 2021
- pregnant women
- people with caring responsibilities (If there is someone you rely on to care for you, please ask them to contact their own GP Practice as they may be eligible for a free flu vaccination.)
- household contacts of immunocompromised patients or those on the NHS Shielded Patient list where close contact is unavoidable
We are beginning to contact eligible patients but if you know you are eligible please call AFTER 10AM on 01202 593444
*All primary school age children and Year 7 in secondary school will be offered the vaccine through school. Children aged 2 and 3 on 31.8.2020 or clinically at risk children over 6 months will be offered the vaccine through the practice unless offered by school.
