Ara – Gambling support across South West
Ara provides gambling support across the South West of England for anyone impacted by gambling including affected others/ loved ones. Our support is wide ranging and includes: 1-1 counselling, CBT Group Workshops, Relationship Counselling and Recovery Management Workshops.
We have been providing gambling support services for over 10 years and received new funding in April as part of the newly commissioned system by NHS England. NHS England » Gambling Harms Treatment Programme.
The referral process is fast and easy. Following referral, clients average a wait time of 2 days to be assessed and 7 days for first session. To refer a client, you can of course signpost or refer using this link Book Support | Free and Confidential Help from Ara.
New Initiative – East Access Workshops
What are Easy Access Workshops?
Easy Access Workshops are designed to provide people experiencing gambling-related harms with timely information, advice, and guidance. For some people, these workshops may provide all the support they need, while for others they may act as a first step towards accessing more structured services.
Each workshop will:
- Be delivered online.
- Last approximately 30 minutes.
- Run Monday to Thursday.
- Provide a low-barrier entry point into support.
- Offer a seamless pathway into more structured services where appropriate.
