From Thursday 11 June 2026 we will be offering a walk in service for children to attend from 0-14 years old. This service will be available to children who require blood tests and do not need any reasonable adjustments. The service will be available every Thursday and Friday from 8.30am-4.30pm where parents with children can just turn up to Children’s Outpatients at Poole Hospital, Pink Zone level 1, take a ticket and wait.
Those children who do require reasonable adjustments should ring the blood clinic line 0300 019 2383 where a receptionist will be able to book an appointment on Monday-Wednesday.
Young people over 14 should continue to be done by their GP service or if a consultant requested bloods, these can be done in adult services as per the current arrangements.
Prolonged Jaundice screening will continue for babies requiring this but will now be offered on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Health visitors and Midwives should continue to book these in the usual way.
